Z Group brings together three specialist divisions - Z Developments, ZAG Engineering, and Z Energy - under a single, integrated group structure. Where most projects require coordination between separate development firms, engineering consultancies, and energy advisors, Z Group delivers all three disciplines from within one organisation. We are united by a shared commitment to innovation, transparency, and sustainable growth.
Founded by Zeyad Hassan and led from Ottawa, Ontario, Z Group operates across Eastern Ontario and maintains an active international presence in Egypt, the Middle East and North Africa - a combination that gives our clients access to both local market knowledge and global project experience. Every project we undertake is built on technical rigour, full-cycle accountability, and a genuine commitment to the communities we work in.

Our operations focus on North America, the Middle East and North Africa - regions with rapidly growing urban infrastructure and expanding energy needs. Internationally, our presence in the Middle East and North Africa includes direct project experience with major energy and infrastructure clients.

Over 20 years of experience across oil & gas, land development, and construction. Previously Commissioning Manager at one of the world's most advanced refineries - Saudi Aramco's SATORP. Professional Engineer licensed in Ontario since 2019, and Founder of Z Group.
Chris Follett
M.Eng., P.Eng.
President, Engineering - North America
Over 25 years of experience in land development, infrastructure, industrial projects, and strategic project delivery across North America. At Z Group, Chris oversees engineering operations, project delivery, and technical strategy - helping clients transform complex development opportunities into successful, sustainable projects.

Over 20 years of experience leading business growth, market expansion, and strategic partnerships across Egypt and the Middle East. At Z Energy, Karim leads the company's regional vision - focusing on strategic investments, energy innovation, and sustainable business growth across Egypt, North Africa, and the Middle East.

Director of Business Operations
Over 45 years of experience in oil & gas, construction, and residential development across Canada and the United States. Former president of homebuilding companies in Ontario. Founder of his own construction consulting firm serving builders and developers across Ontario and the USA.

A construction professional with experience in project coordination, site operations, and construction execution across a variety of development projects. At Z Group, Mahmoud works closely with project teams, consultants, and contractors - coordinating construction activities and supporting delivery from planning through to completion.
